My First Offline Seminar of IEEE (IASB)

Today I attended an offline seminar of the IEEE AUST Student Branch named 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝟯.𝟬. The topic was 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵. I along with my section mates and dept mates of Dept. of EEE at AUST joined the seminar and got some sort of insight about the topic.

Poster of the Session
The honourable speaker tried to explain how industrial automation works showing several examples and projects done by their company, Sincos Technologies Ltd. Some examples cover the automation technology used by Unilever Bangladesh, Dhaka WASA and many more. Though it was a little bit difficult to understand the process and engineering aspects of the projects, we managed to have an overview which may be good to raise our interest in specific topics.

Asking, PC: Rafi
Another aspect that I must mention and admire as well is homecoming. The speaker Mr. Naasik Akkas and his colleague who is the DGM of the same company both came back to Bangladesh from abroad after finishing their study there. They were asked about the opportunities available in Bangladesh and they were positive in the answers despite some typical difficulties. Before coming to Bangladesh from the USA, Australia, and Germany they worked for some renowned tech companies like Mr. Akkas at Apple Inc. I asked the guests in the Q&A session what kind of theoretical knowledge we should gather to get into the realm of the automation industry. The other guest who is the DGM told us to focus on one or two things from the very beginning of our undergrad life and said to make an interest or grow a hobby about the chosen topic. Besides our university lessons, he suggested browsing a lot about our esteemed topic through the internet. Moreover, he told us to grow some specific skills other than memorising lessons to make CGPA high only.

Later on, our very own current Head of Department of EEE, Mr Tarek Aziz sir pitched a wonderful speech as a conclusion. He inspired us not to be bound by the typical varsity lessons but rather to go deep. In the halfway of the seminar we, the students and general members were offered "Puri" as snacks which delighted us, when it is about free food, who is gonna deny it?! This lecture was jointly organized by the IASB and its affinity groups, AUST EEE Society for the betterment of our career and research aspects.
After completing the productive seminar, I also joined the informal conversation of the Peace Club, Ahsanullah(R) Peace Club(ARPC) where a cup of yoghurt was given to each attendee. The day was good by the grace of Almighty, Alhamdulillah.
But it is 1.34 AM (BST) and I have classes tomorrow starting from 8AM insha'Allah. So I have to sleep now after wasting the evening. :(
